Our Patron

Bishop David Walker DD, the second bishop of the Diocese of Broken Bay, is patron of The Broken Bay Institute (BBI) and President of the BBI Council.

Since the early 1970s, Bishop Walker has taken a leading role in the provision of adult faith formation opportunities for lay Christians. He was a founding member of the Centre for Christian Spirituality from which The Broken Bay Institute has developed.

In his role as pastor of the Diocese of Broken Bay, Bishop Walker takes every opportunity to invite his people to reflect on their spiritual tradition. Bishop Walker is an expert on interpreting the writings of the fourth century desert fathers, especially John Cassian.
