Scholarships

Students studying through The Broken Bay Institute (BBI) are invited to consider applying for the following scholarships:

Broken Bay Diocesan Scholarship

The Diocese of Broken Bay offers scholarship funding to persons living in the diocese or working in ministry in the diocese.  The scholarships apply to award programs through BBI for undergraduate and postgraduate study. 

The Broken Bay Scholarships are awarded annually and applications close in mid-October for the following academic year. Scholarships are allocated after consideration of the following: personal or financial need, the number of applications, and interest in faith education and ministry enrichment. Both current BBI students and new applicants are encouraged to apply.

Mary Ward Grant

Mary Ward (1585-1645) founded the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known in Australia as Loretto IBVM Sisters.  Convinced that “women in time to come will do much” she believed passionately in the education of women to their full potential and to the highest contemporary standards. In order to promote the dignity and role of women in the church and society, the Mary Ward Grant was established to support specialist or post graduate study of Theology, spirituality and pastoral ministry.  Priority is given to Catholic lay women.  For full application details please contact:
