Leading for Mission and Catholic Identity: Insights from Vatican II

Massimo FaggioliProfessor Massimo Faggioli, internationally renowned expert in Vatican II, theologian, author and educator will be teaching into BBI’s academic awards and courses in 2017 and 2018.

In July 2017, he will be in Australia, delivering a two-day seminar at BBI, which can be taken as part of an academic unit or attended as a seminar participant.

Academic Unit

LEAD802 Leading for Mission and Catholic Identity: Insights from Vatican II is an academic unit in BBI's Leadership & Theology discipline and is equivalent to 10 credit points towards postgraduate study. The unit is offered in blended mode, comprising an intensive two-day, face-to-face seminar which will equate to six sessions during the two days. The remaining six sessions to complete the unit, will be available online. The two-day seminar will be filmed and made available for academic students.

The academic unit fee is $2,000 and includes participation in the seminar, readings, handouts, catering, online coursework and full assessment of coursework for academic credit.

If you are a BBI student enrolled in any discipline (Leadership & Theology; Religious Education, Theological Studies; or Governance & Canon Law) at any level of study (Graduate Certificate; Graduate Diploma or Master's level), you may apply to do this unit, subject to your academic program, please call Student Administration to confirm: 02 9847 0030.   

Cross-Institutional Students

If you are currently studying in Australia or overseas at another higher education institution, you can apply to enrol into this unit as a cross-institutional student, subject to your institution's approval. You will participate in the seminar and online study, be fully assessed and receive full academic credit upon completion of the unit. 

Single-Unit Enrolment Students (Non Award Enrolment)

You may enrol into this academic unit only, and not into an academic award or course  (Graduate Certificate or Diploma or Master's). You will participate in the seminar and online study, be fully assessed and receive full academic credit upon completion of the unit. This option may be valuable for those needing additional professional accreditation with their employer. The two-day seminar will also be filmed and made available online. 

All Academic Students

If you attend the seminar but later, wish to withdraw from the academic unit, you will still be liable and charged the seminar fee. You must withdraw from the unit before the census date (14th August 2017).This applies whether you are a BBI student, cross-institutional student or single-unit enrolment student.

 

Professional Development Seminar

Leading for Mission and Catholic Identity: Insights from Vatican II can be completed as a professional development short course without enrolling into the academic award or course and without having to complete the assessments.

Attendance at the seminar may count towards currency of accreditation for working in a Catholic school or CPD in another agency. Participants should confirm this with their employer. Each day will be equivalent to six hours. Seminar Attendance Certificates will be issued for Professional Development hours. You can also apply online for NESA accreditation.
