Diploma in Theology

Overview

The Diploma in Theologyis a program of study consisting of ten units within the Bachelor of Theology program. It provides students with introductory study across a range of theological disciplines. Conditions for admission are the same as for Bachelor of Theology.

Admission Requirements

This program is open to students of all ages.  Candidates may have no prior academic background at tertiary level.

Program Structure

  • The ten course units (90 credit points) must be taken at 100 and 200 levels.
  • Students need to complete five foundational units (three from the area of Biblical Studies and two from the area of Theology) plus five elective units from any subject area.

Specific Requirements

Five foundational units:

  1. BRB100 - Introduction to Biblical Studies
  2. BRB206 - Studies in the Old Testament
  3. BRB208 - Studies in the New Testament
  4. TRB100 - Introduction to Theological Studies
  5. TRB217 - The Church
    OR
    TRB231 - Jesus the Christ

Five elective units at 100 and 200 level, level, from the Assignable Units in Bachelor of Theology program: Humanities - Biblical Studies - Christian Ethics - Church History - Liturgical Studies - Pastoral Theology and Practice - Christian Spirituality - Theology - Philosophy.
