Master of Theology

Overview

The Master of Theology is a post-graduate degree which consists of twelve course units at (four of which may be at 500 level in circumstances - refer to Handbook), to be studied at 600-700 level, two of which may be in a form of a Research Essay (18cpts: 10,000 - 12 ,000 words). Specialisation is offered in the areas of Christian Spirituality, Theology and Biblical Studies (refer to Handbook).

Admission Requirements

Requirement for entry is Bachelor of Theology or equivalent.

Program Structure

  • 108 credit points (twelve course units); three semesters (1.5 years) full-time, up to nine semesters (4.5 years) part-time.
  • Either with specialisation or without specialisation.
  • With specialisation: at least 54 credit points (six course units) and not more than 72 credit points (eight course units) in a subject area of specialisation.
  • 18 credit points (two course units) may be a Research Essay (10,000-12,000 words) for those studying with specialisation.
  • The Research Essay option is a requirement for entry into the MTh (Hons) program
