Course Requirements
To complete a course unit, a student is to satisfy all assessment requirements. A course unit must be completed within the term prescribed, i.e. eighteen weeks. A student may attempt any course unit only twice. In the case of Intensives, students are expected to attend all sessions (unless granted special exemption by the Academic Dean).
Demand hours are the time to which each student is notionally committed. In the case of a full-time student this would be 42-45 hours per week. Each unit of 9 credit points is allocated 162 demand hours, i.e. 18 hours per credit point.
All students undertaking a BBI distance education course will receive a copy of the BBI Student Manual. This booklet contains suggestions to assist students in approaching distance study and in creating a study plan. It also includes essential information and advice for planning and presenting assignments for courses including correct referencing.
Students are issued with an ID number and card on enrolment. Thereafter the number is to be used, together with the student’s name, on all documents including correspondence, applications and assignments.
