Digital Marketing Officer

Direct Report: Marketing & Communications Manager Contract: 12 months
Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience Number of Days 4-5

Scope and Accountability

The Digital Marketing Officer (DMO) is part of a small, high performing Marketing-Communications team, consisting of a Marketing & Communications Manager and a Marketing Recruitment Officer. As the new DMO, you will be responsible for engaging the Institute's various internal and external audiences online, through creative use and effective management of digital channels, including the website and social media.

An expert in building online communities, you will help develop BBI-TAITE's online profile by ensuring that we maintain a strong and consistent presence on selected social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and Youtube) and that we are sharing content through relevant third party websites and newsletters.

You will use various tools to monitor the website and produce online statistics to report on results and work with developers and a third party to improve usability, engagement and visibility. With excellent writing, copy-editing and proof-reading skills and sound technical ability, you will create high quality multimedia content and manage our film, audio and photography resources.

The DMO works with the Marketing & Communications team and ICLT team to ensure our students (Higher Education and PDSC) are actively engaging with our website and other communications platforms. 
 

Role and Responsibilities
BBI–TAITE is seeking an energetic Digital Marketing Officer to work on web and social media projects, digital marketing campaigns and to produce video footage, as part of our digital story telling initiatives. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of marketing-communications professionals, so being a keen team-player is critical. You will be required to:

  • Generate, edit, publish, share and curate daily content, including original text, images, video or HTML for web and social media, which builds meaningful connections and engages our student and alumni community;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Communications Manager in the development of content strategy and brand awareness with online platforms including the website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, LinkedIn);
  • Raise the visibility of BBI’s website in order to build the Institute’s profile in the tertiary education market through effectively optimising content for search engines, managing BBI's Google Adwords account and undertaking SEO and SEM initiatives (including the creation of retargeting and display ads);
  • Monitor, listen and respond to Social Media users in a ‘social’ way that reflects the values of BBI–TAITE;
  • Design promotions and social advertising campaigns and analyse them by translating anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and strategy;
  • Assist Faculty in promoting their scholarly endeavours via social media and BBI's website:

  • Prepare eDMs and perform database maintenance duties to ensure the accuracy and consistency of marketing data;
  • Monitor website trends and performance using Google and Facebook Analytics to prepare reports for website, social media and digital advertising campaign results.


Selection Criteria
1. Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required
To be a successful applicant, you need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Media/Marketing/Communications or at least two years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated experience in website management, including using Content Management Systems and website analytics
  • Previous experience identifying creative ways to reach and influence audiences through communications and media;
  • Knowledge of best practice in website design, search engine optimisation techniques and a good understanding of emerging digital trends;
  • A strong track record of effectively utilising and developing a presence on, key social media platforms to build relationships and share information;
  • Experience of measuring the performance of websites and digital channels, establishing/reporting against performance indicators;
  • Experience of producing and/or managing multimedia content such as photography, film and audio, including some experience of film/audio editing;
  • A thorough understanding of content marketing theory and application;
  • Experience producing and/or managing multimedia content such as photography, film and audio, including some experience of film/audio editing (eg use of Handbrake and/or Adobe Encoder);
  • Experience in sourcing, managing and publishing online content;
  • Experience managing Social Media platforms;
  • A comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and their impact on communications;
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google AdWords
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe Creative suite in particular PremierPro and Photoshop/Illustrator;
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript;

• Experience using and the Google Display Network; and 
• Design skills and experience.

Remuneration
Remuneration package is dependant on experience, the salary range is $68,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience (plus employer’s contribution to superannuation). An initial 12 month contract will be offered with option to renew.
