John Frauenfelder is a lecturer, researcher and adult faith educator in the fields of Liturgical Studies, Sacraments, Pastoral Theology and Spirituality for the Ageing. He holds a Masters and Doctorate in Liturgical Studies and Ministry, and has taught at BBI-TAITE where he was Academic Dean (2009 – 2011), and the former St Peter’s Centre for Clergy Renewal in Canberra ACT. He writes for both academic and general audiences and a contributor to The Parish Companion to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (James Goold Press, Melbourne). John works now in Adult & Parent Faith Formation for Catholic Schools Office, Broken Bay, is an educator for the Catholic Education Office (Diocese of Rockhampton) and consultant/educator for Mercy Health & Aged Care Services Central Queensland. John’s particular areas of research and interest are the Baptismal Priesthood, Going to Mass Backward – a new approach to understanding Sunday Worship, and Teaching as Eucharist. He is involved in facilitating Retreats, Spiritual Reflection Days, Spirituality for the Ageing, and contributes gospel reflections to a weekly email service.He writes for both academic and general audiences and co-authored Lectio Divina for Lent and Advent with Bishop David Walker, a publication of the Diocese of Broken Bay, 2008 – 2015.
