Dr Drasko Dizdar has taught theology and worked in the area of spiritual formation in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the USA.

A former Academic Dean of the Multifaith Academy of Chaplaincy and Community Ministries, lecturer in theology at the Australian Catholic University, and current theologian in residence with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office, he has published in the areas of biblical hermeneutics, theology, liturgy and spirituality. He is a member of the international Colloquium on Religion and Violence, and the Australian Girard Seminar.

His academic interests include mimetic theory, spirituality and biblical hermeneutics. At present he is developing a sapiential approach to Catholic education grounded in a theology of the Holy Spirit and drawing on the insights of the cultural anthropologist and literary critic, René Girard. He is a founding member and prior of Emmaus, an ecumenical monastic community affiliated to the monastery of Bose (Italy).
