Emma Carolan is a member of the Faculty and Teaching Staff at BBI - The Australian Institute of Theological Education. She has previously tutored theology in the areas of Biblical Studies, Liturgical Studies and Studies of Religions, as well as the Core Curriculum, at the Australian Catholic University.

Emma is currently completing her PhD at the University of Sydney, entitled ‘Theological Challenges: The Australian Catholic Church and the State of Israel,’ investigating Australian Catholic Church responses to the Vatican’s renewed teachings about Jews and Judaism, particularly responses to the actions of Pope John Paul II in relation to the State of Israel. Her main areas of research interest lie in interfaith dialogue, particularly Christian – Jewish dialogue, Jewish history and theology and biblical studies.
