Archbishop Mark Coleridge

Archbishop ColeridgeArchbishop Mark Coleridge is the Archbishop of Brisbane. Previously, he served as Archbishop of Canberra-Goulburn and Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne.

Prior to becoming a Bishop in 2002, he served for five years in the Vatican Secretariat of State. He is a theologian and teacher especially qualified in the fields of Sacred Scripture and the Church’s liturgical worship.

In 2004, he was appointed a member of the Pontifical Council for Culture and Chair of the Roman Missal Editorial Committee of the International Committee for English in the Liturgy. He was subsequently named Chair of the International Commission for the Preparation of an English-language Lectionary.

In 2011, he was appointed a member of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, prior to being named Archbishop of Brisbane in 2012.
