Lay Leadership in the Church

Unit overview and content

This unit will commence with a study of how the development of certain disciplines in the secular world, at the turn of the 20th century, had a real impact on how the Church began to look at itself and its emerging theology of the laity in the Second Vatican Council. Secondly, it will consider the relationship of the work of lay leaders in the Church today to the work that Jesus began and the specific role of lay leaders in bringing about the Kingdom of God in the world today.
