Sr Maria Casey

Maria Casey is a Sister of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.  

She was involved in Secondary Education and administration in secondary schools for many years. She holds degrees in Science and the Arts as well as post graduate studies.

After six years in administration for the Congregation in WA, Sr Maria studied Canon Law in Ottawa, Canada where she survived the winters and obtained a double Doctorate.

Since her return she has worked in Canon Law as Director of a Tribunal, as Vicar for Consecrated Life in Ballarat and Sydney, as the final Postulator in the canonisation of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and as a canonical consultant and lecturer in Canon Law.

Sr Maria is an Associate Professor of Saint-Paul University (SPU), Ottawa appointed by SPU to teach Canon Law through BBI-TAITE to its Australian licentiate students. In between times she just enjoys living, reading, cooking, doing a spot of gardening and talking to people.
