Master of Theological Studies

Graduates will be equipped with the necessary skills to assume leadership roles in Catholic organisations.

This course will equip you with the skills to apply an advanced level of knowledge in Theology directly to your everyday work.

The course is relevant for those who are working in a church agency, such as a school, hospital or welfare setting and want to understand how the Church and faith relates to the mission and identity of their Catholic institution. Perhaps you already hold the BBI Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies or Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies and want to extend your study.

You may also find this course useful for employment or promotion in various roles within the health, education or welfare sectors. Core units integrated into the Masters course include Advanced Studies in Theology for the 21st Century and Capstone Project in Theological Studies where students have an opportunity to pursue further research in an area of specific interest to them, under the direction of the unit coordinator.

This course also provides graduates with a firm foundation for further research at the doctoral level.

2 years full-time, or part-time equivalent, amounting to 160 credit points.

  • An undergraduate degree in any discipline from an approved tertiary education institution.
  • English-language proficiency.
