The Professional Development Series of Courses offers accredited learning opportunities designed to support professionals, especially teachers, in deepening their understanding and confidence in being a part of a Catholic School as well as teaching Religious Education. These courses are also ideal for parishioners who are in leadership roles in parishes, or the dioceses who want to deepen their knowledge and commitment to Catholic thought and the biblical tradition.
Each course provides up to 8 hours of professional learning credit toward accreditation to teach Religious Education, combining, for most options, 3 hours of interactive online sessions, 3 hours of guided reading, and 2 hours of reflective written work. For Victorian teachers, you can access 3 hours of accreditation through the TAPS portal.
Live sessions are delivered via Zoom and recorded for flexible access.
Courses in this series address key accreditation categories, including
- Aims and Objectives of a Catholic School: covering Church teaching, charism, and ethics.
- Faith Development: exploring pedagogy, curriculum, and formation; and
- Catholic Identity: focusing on prayer, liturgy, Scripture, and Catholic social teaching.
Together, these courses provide a rich and practical foundation for teachers and adults seeking to integrate Catholic faith, values, and tradition into their professional practice.
