Academic Staff

Chris Budden is a ‘retired’ Minister of the Uniting Church, who spent his last 7 years before retirement working as a support person for the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress. He is married to Wendy, and they have 6 children and 9 grandchildren. He continues to be a keen mountain biker.

He studied theology at Sydney University and United Theological College, and has a BA (hons) from UNSW (sociology), and a DMin from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He is an Associate Researcher in the Public and Contextual Theology Research Centre at Charles Sturt University, and author of Following Jesus in Invaded Space: Doing Theology on Aboriginal Land (2009), and Why Indigenous Sovereignty Should Matter to Christians (2018).
